Omschrijving
Samenvatting:Body composition has been associated with physical performance in cooperation and opposition sports such as rugby sevens, which is expressed through physical abilities. Objective: To determine the association between body composition, explosive strength and some parameters of physical performance in university Rugby sevens players (age 22.8 ± 3.4 years, weight 85.2 ± 12.6 kg, height 176.7 ± 4.8 cm, muscle mass 41.6 ± 5.4 Kg , fat percentage 17.0 ± 4.4%). Method: Body composition was evaluated by means of the anthropometric method, FE through the height and power of the squat jump (SJ) and the countermovement jump (CMJ), agility with the Illinois Test and speed in 30 m thrown. Results: Associations were found between muscle mass with SJ power (r = .76; p, <.01) and with CMJ power (r = .73; p, <.03), in the same way between the percentage of fat and endurance (r = .90; p, < .00). Conclusion: there is an association between muscle mass and FE, as well as the percentage of fat with agility and resistance in Rugby sevens players at university level.
