Description
Summary:A zeolite type chabazite was used in its natural form and exchanged form with KOH to remove methylene blue-chromium from wastewater. SEM, EDX, FIR and UV-Vis techniques were used for material analysis. The removal process was carried out in batch tests, over a period from one to five hours, using a prepared solution with a concentration of 15 ppm of dye and 250 ppm of chromium. Finding that the modified zeolite had a removal efficiency of 95% methylene blue, while the natural form has an efficiency of 90%; about chromium, ZN had a maximum adsorption of 20.47% by mass and ZT 19.72% by mass. We concluded that the chabazite from Divisaderos, Sonora can be used to treat mixtures of methylene-blue-chromium in water.
