Summary: | The demand for metallic products obtained from the mining and metallurgical industry has increased over time due to the wide range of uses they have, an example of which is manganese. In Mexico, ores containing this element are used as raw material in the iron and steel industry, without taking advantage of its value as a marketable product. One example is metallic manganese, which is obtained by the electrodeposition process. However, this process has the disadvantage of using SeO2 as an additive to inhibit the generation of hydrogen evolution by the water reduction. This element is highly toxic and environmentally polluting, so this work focuses on finding alternative additives that are more environmentally friendly without significantly affecting current efficiency and energy consumption parameters. |
