| 总结: | The Architecture of the northern cities of Mexico has presented the influence of geographic proximity whit the United States of America. During the first half of the 20th Century, this influenced the appearance of Baja California's cities. First by importing from California prefabricated wooden buildings and latter by adopting a language colloquially named as Californian Architecture but this should be really designated as Colonial Californian Revival. In addition to the modernist aspirations of the rulers and inhabitants of the peninsula, the distance from the capital of Mexico, and the deficient means of communications and transport created a permanent link between California and Baja California that left as inheritance relevant buildings that today could be classified as a part of this architectonic language. This article presents definition and background of the topic, as well as a review of the buildings that today are part of Baja California's collective memory and must be considered as a significant part of the architectonic heritage of the state. Especially when it is presented as effective material evidence, not just from a historical period, but of the one that corresponds to the urban and architectonic consolidation of the cities of Baja California. |
