Περίληψη:This study tested a structural model evaluating the effect of hedonia and eudaimonia orientations and the participants age on a second-order factor called Electric Energy Saving Behavior, composed of two categories of actions: monitoring of and reduced electricity consumption. Were analyzed the responses of an intentional sample of 460 participants, inhabitants with housing at different neighbourhoods of Hermosillo, Sonora (113 men and 127 women), and Mexico City (108 men and 112 women), accounting for a total of 221 men and 239 women, with ages between 15 and 66 years (M = 34.5 years, SD = 13.40 years). The model displayed goodness of fit and explained 30% of the variance of Electric Energy Saving Behavior. Among the main results, it was found that age of participants and Eudaimonia had direct effects on the second order factor of electrical energy saving, whereas Hedonia did not directly impact this behavior.
