The objective of this study was to observe if a particular trait (use of tattoos) can modify the economic perception that a person has about another person, examine the role that sex plays against this trait, and how these factors interact. For this investigation, four photos were used, a man and a woman with and without tattoos; 208 college students were asked to give financial attribution to the submitted photo. Finding higher economic ranges in the photo of men with or without tattoos and a better salary range in women with tattoos. Concluding that indeed a specific characteristic such as a tattoo can change the perception of others against the salary attribution of a person. El efecto halo se manifiesta al atribuir características específicas a sucesos, objetos o personas; demostrando que algunas decisiones no son 100 % racionales, pues involucran atajos cognitivos que pueden ser o no reales. El objetivo de este estudio fue observar si un rasgo particular (uso de tatuajes) puede modificar la percepción económica que se tiene sobre una persona, conocer el papel que juega el sexo frente a este rasgo y cómo interactúan estos factores. Para esta investigación se utilizaron cuatro fotos, un hombre y una mujer con y sin tatuajes; se les pidió a 208 estudiantes universitarios que dieran una atribución económica a la foto presentada. Se le atribuyeron mayores rangos económicos a la foto del hombre con o sin tatuaje y mejor rango salarial a mujeres con tatuajes. Se concluye que, efectivamente, una característica específica, como un tatuaje, puede afectar la percepción al atribuir el salario de una persona.
