Zusammenfassung:Chloridea virescens is pest of economic importance in the American continent, known for presenting problems of resistance to synthetic insecticides for its control. For this reason, the objective of this study was reproduce an insect colony under laboratory conditions using a biotechnological model designed from the life cycle to improve its control. From the implemented model, the individuals developed eight generations over a year and life cycle of 44.8 ± 1.24 days. The female deposited 130.5 ± 13.48 eggs on average. The eggs hatched in 3.5 ± 1 day, the larval stage lasted 25.4 ± 1.86 days, the pupae took 9.2 ± 2 and the adult survival was 6.7 ± 1 days. This study proposes the first biotechnological model for the reproduction of C. virescens and provides valuable information for its reproduction under controlled conditions.
