Resumo: | At present, approximately 780,000 asteroids are known in the Solar System and every year thousand more are being discovered. While the number of asteroid discoveries increases at a high rate, the study of their physical properties like rotation and taxonomic classification do not. In Mexico, a group of researchers decided to start in 2015 a national photometry campaign to observe and study asteroids. As an example of the kind of studies that our team is carrying out at Universidad de Sonora, we present the results obtained for five asteroids: 2746 Hissao, 4404 Enirac, 4371 Fyodorov, 5976 Kalatajean and 9671 Hemera . At present, our production and data quality have improved significantly. We are preparing students and teachers from our university as well as from other national institutions. In this way, we will consolidate a group capable of contributing to the international study of asteroids with fundamental information in this developingareainMexico. |
