Description
Summary:The production of agricultural crops in the face of climate change is a topic of current interest. In recent years, the negative effects of biotic and abiotic factors on its productivity have been observed. In this sense, the clarification of the tolerance mechanisms that plants use towards the various stress factors should be outlined as a strategy to generate cultivars and resilient production systems. The measurement of chlorophyll fluorescence is a fast and non-destructive way to understand the sensitivity of plants to various factors. This article jointly reviews scientific information about the effects of changing abiotic and biotic factors that are currently recorded on the chlorophyll fluorescence of plants crops. The utility of fluorescence parameters as indicators of adaptation mechanisms and future trends in their use are discussed.
