description Although, the uses and the customs in the current socio-cultural discourse have come to use the terms race and ethnicity as synonyms, the truth is that there is a difference between them. The analysis of both terms leads to the question, how does the semantic inclusion of the word ethnic group occur in the collective imagination of indigenous peoples? Well, this is the question that this documentary study addresses with the aim of pointing out the existing inequalities in the written speeches proclaimed by organizations such as the United. Analyzed, under a hermeneutical approach, and a philosophical paradigm, it tries to visualize, how the evolution of the concept of race, has given room to a term that, although it is not new, its presence comes to promote a sense of ethic in the collective imagination of the peoples regarding tolerance, acceptance, respect, and recognition of the value of difference not only in the living conditions of others, but also in the sense of identity of the Other. It should be noted then that, from the field of philosophy, the concept of ethnicity is understood as a phenomenon whose explanation refers to a problem of an ethical nature, therefore, it is useful to redefine from a modern perspective the use of those concepts that impact to the collective imagination, since, if the peoples have different conceptions about the value of their own identity, how can they project their future? How can they establish conditions of good life and happiness for all?

How can they establish conditions of good life and happiness for all?
