A methodology was designed with which it was possible to know the general panorama of the region, the identification of integration actions through the observation of birds in Sonora, Arizona and New Mexico and it was possible to detect the areas of opportunity of the Sonoran state, particularly in the municipality of Álamos and surrounding towns, for the development of this practice through the American bird tourism model. La presente investigación realiza un análisis de aspectos que permitan medir el impacto del aviturismo en la región de Sonora, Arizona y Nuevo México, mediante las experiencias de quienes realizan la práctica de observación de aves y quienes ofrecen servicios de aviturismo en dichos estados. Se diseñó una metodología con la cual se logró conocer el panorama general de la región, la identificación de acciones de integración a través de la observación de aves en Sonora, Arizona y Nuevo México y se pudieron detectar las áreas de oportunidad del estado sonorense, particularmente en el municipio de Álamos y localidades aledañas, para el desarrollo de esta práctica a través del modelo de aviturismo estadounidense.
