要約:The present study aimed to examine qualitative differences by gender of parental practices implemented in families of adolescents. The analysis by gender was conducted considering the perspective of men and women about the practice that their parents made to educate them. The convenience sample consisted of 133 students of secondary school of the city of Saltillo, Coahuila. A questionnaire of ten open questions was applied from which two questions in particular were taken concerning what the father and mother do to educate adolescents. The analysis procedure was conducted through the ATLAS.ti program for qualitative data. There is a differentiating element in educational practices that refers to corporal punishment, which was an element present in the parent-child dynamic at the adolescent stage. The women reported no more than verbal reprimand as a method of punishment. It was concluded that the role of stereotypes in the Mexican culture and its influence on rearing practices justified stronger treatment and little communication towards boys, and a treatment of greater protection and care as well, a more open communication that allow the expression of the emotions in women.
