Resumo:The main of this paper is to analyze the performance of total factor productivity (TFP) at the manufacturing level of the Mar de Cortés region and the degree of contribution of each of the entities that comprise it in the period 1993-2018. For this, the methodologies used are the Solow Residual model through a Cobb-Douglas type function and the Harberger sunrise/sunset diagrams. The results obtained show significant TFP growth in the region for the study period, although clearly differentiated since Baja California and Sonora are the "winning" entities, registering the best behavior in terms of production, employment and productivity, while Sinaloa, Baja California Sur and Nayarit are the "losing" states, showing very limited progress in TFP growth. This requires the implementation of regional strategies that favor the integration of lagging entities and that promote the strengthening of Mexican manufacturing.
