Los cursos en línea masivos y abiertos también conocidos como MOOCs han permitido que personas de diversas partes del mundo puedan profesionalizar sus conocimientos a su propio ritmo de manera autogestiva y autocalificable, volviéndose en un área de oportunidad de ampliar la oferta educativa y que sirva como ingreso adicional para las instituciones de educación superior. El presente estudio cualitativo tiene como objetivo identificar los beneficios que brindan los cursos MOOCs a la internacionalización del currículo desde la perspectiva de la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria. Se destacan dentro de los beneficios la formación en competencias y la profesionalización de saberes orientado hacia la dimensión internacional para la resolución de problemas. Desde la perspectiva de RSU la reducción de la huella ecológica, la reducción de uso de recursos y autosustentable.
