Objective: Describe the specific theory about family behavior regarding self-management and glucose control of individuals with type 2 diabetes. Methodology: Inclusive process was the method used for the development of this theory. Results: Four main concepts were identified: family behavior, self-management, glucose control, and individual constraint agents of an individual with type 2 diabetes. Conclusions: The specific theory developed allows us to obtain a theoretical framework to understand the interaction of a relative of someone with type 2 diabetes in order to achieve self-management and glucose control of these individuals. Introducción: Los profesionales de enfermería desarrollan Teorías sobre situaciones específicas para tener una mejor explicación de la práctica y poder brindar un cuidado de calidad a la persona, la familia y la comunidad. Objetivo: Describir la Teoría específica sobre las Conductas familiares en la Autogestión y el Control glucémico de las personas con Diabetes tipo 2. Metodología: El método utilizado para el desarrollo de está teoría fue a través del Proceso integrador. Resultados: se logró identificar cuatro conceptos principales: Conductas familiares, Autogestión de la persona con Diabetes tipo 2, Control glucémico y Agentes condicionantes individuales. Conclusiones: la Teoría específica desarrollada, nos permite tener un marco teórico para entender la interacción del familiar y la persona con Diabetes tipo 2 para el logró de la Autogestión y el Control glucémico de estás.
