In the first place, it has taught us that globalization, when understood and taken advantage of, can bring great benefits, but that it can have collateral effects such as the spread of a disease that can be lethal. Secondly, despite technological advances, the different health systems have not been able to contain the pandemic, and as a result of this situation, public health has become a priority. La pandemia del COVID-19 ha sido muy educadora en muchos aspectos, para la sociedad los gobiernos y los profesionales de la salud. En primer lugar, nos ha enseñado que la globalización, cuando es entendida y aprovechada, puede brindar grandes beneficios, pero que puede tener efectos colaterales como la dispersión de una enfermedad que puede ser letal. En segundo lugar, a pesar de los avances tecnológicos, los diferentes sistemas de salud no han logrado contener la pandemia, y a raíz de esta situación  la salud pública toma se vuelve prioritaria. Para a sociedade, governos e profissionais de saúde, a pandemia COVID-19 tem sido muito educativa de várias maneiras. Em primeiro lugar, ensinou-nos que a globalização, quando entendida e aproveitada, pode trazer grandes benefícios, mas pode ter efeitos colaterais como a propagação de uma doença que pode ser letal. Em segundo lugar, apesar dos avanços tecnológicos, os diferentes sistemas de saúde não conseguiram conter a pandemia e, em decorrência dessa situação, a saúde pública tornou-se uma prioridade.
