סיכום: | Introduction: Breastfeeding is considered an ecological model, where different factors modify the attitude towards the breastfeeding act, being this, determining for a successful breastfeeding, regardless of the environment, usually it can be seen a relation between favorable attitude and age, as well as mother´s previous experiences, where young women (15-25 years) have higher percentages of insufficient breastfeeding time, by abandoning it before 6 months. In 2006, 22.3% under 6 months of age were exclusively breastfed, while in 2012 it decreased to 14.5%. Objective: To determine the relation between attitudes towards breastfeeding and age in primigravid women from two health centers. Methodology: Correlational and transversal study. Sampling by convenience, conforming it 68 primigravid women belonging to two health centers. Using the Iowa Infant Feeding Attitude Scale questionnaire (IIFAS). Results: The primigravids are from 14 to 39 years old, 18 years mode, standing out a neutral attitude towards breastfeeding (94.1%). Showing that there is no relationship between attitude and age (r= 0.175 y p= 0.154). Conclusion: The attitude about breastfeeding is not related to age and primigravids have a neutral attitude towards breastfeeding, so they do not have defined the type of feeding they will give to the child. |
