要約:COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus. The first cases were identified and confirmed in december 2019, in Wuhan, Hubei province, China. While the lungs are the most affected organs by the infection caused by the coronavirus, causing acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia and septic shock, different manifestations of kidney damage have also been observed, which can greatly impact patient health, especially those receiving critical care. In hospitalized patients, cases of proteinuria, hematuria, acute renal failure, among other renal alterations have been observed, mostly in patients with severe infection. The objective of the following article is to inquire about the renal disturbances caused by SARS-CoV-2, as well as the different pathophysiological mechanisms involved.
