總結:Diabetes mellitus has been established as a public health issue due to its rising prevalence and the possible complications it can cause. COVID-19 has represented a challenge for the actions of the healthcare system, mainly in question of the prevention measures and population control. A bibliographic review was carried out with the objective of describing the problems that have arisen in the Mexican public health system as a consequence of the interaction between COVID-19 and diabetes mellitus. Different studies have shown the increased risk of severe complications and mortality in patients with both diseases. In addition, the lack of access to necessary drugs, non[1]attendance of medical consultation, misinformation and the psychosocial aspects are factors that have affected the health in patients with diabetes mellitus. We conclude that more studies of comprehensive care and glycemic control in diabetic patients with COVID-19 are needed.
